My mom, Talitha Stark, and I, are both the youngest of 5 children raised in a traditional German Lutheran family.....my father was a Lutheran Reverend, and like the Van Trapp family in Sound of Music, we sing in full harmony and absolutely love the counterpoint and cantatas of Bach. I am so grateful that my siblings, niece and nephew, are all here, day upon day, lifting our mother to heaven with our songs.. I am grateful that we were taught such lovely and soothing words from our hymnal, and that because of our many years of sitting in pews, we now have a strong repertoire, vocabulary and notational knowledge of these masterpiece hymns from our past. Today we are enjoying the words and harmony from the 16th century Lutheran hymn, Now Rest Beneath Nights Shadow, the words are comforting, especially for my mom. Thank you for your thought-felt loving prayers. Thank you for caring for our family at this time. We have a long way to go, because after she passes we will go to Oklahoma City for the burial and funeral service. We pray for endurance as we wait and anticipate our days and weeks ahead.
