Last night, we helped make a Delavan couples dream come true by hosting an in-home hospice wedding surrounded by their family and friends. Sam has been fighting colon cancer for three years and is now in hospice care. Him and his now wife, Heather, wanted nothing more than to be married. So, Lauren Kinderman, Mercy Hospice Social Worker, and Sams care team, helped plan the big day. With the help of our Making Memories, a fund founded by a previous Mercy Hospice patient, we were able to pay for the wedding expenses. Neil Johnson, of The Gazette captured the special event with a wonderful story on the front page of todays Gazette. To Heather and Sam, our beautiful newlyweds: We wish you the best in your new life together.
