#2 - Let’s get started! dōTERRA means Gift of the Earth and these oils surely live up to that definition. dōTERRA has been a company for almost 6 years. We are by no means the oldest essential oil company, however we are the number one essential oil (EO) company. The founders of dōTERRA set out to provide us with the purest oils. In an effort to produce the purest oils on the market they looked to their sourcing. Choosing to source from regions where the bark, tree, root, petal, etc thrive the most in nature allows for the highest potency and quality in the end result = oil. Here is a fun example: if we were to drive out to a farm that specializes in growing prize tomatoes and pull a fresh tomato off of the vine we would relish in its freshness and robust flavor. If we walked into a hot house in December and picked a tomato of off a plant it would still be a tomato but would not be as luscious or flavorful. Sourcing plays a big role in the quality of an EO. dōTERRA is able to help farmers and local economies all over the world in using this method of sourcing. Posted below is a video showing part of the Lemongrass oil process. The lemon grass comes from southern India and is overseen by farmers who have raised lemongrass for generations. Being able to offer EOs that are safe to take internally was a goal turned reality. It is not advised to use all brands of EOs internally. The phrase often used to describe dōTERRA EOs is “better than organic”. The oils are guaranteed to be free of fillers, synthetic substances, chemicals and pesticides. dōTERRA chooses to harvest the roots, barks, leaves, etc at a time when the EO will be most potent. Each oil is carefully extracted using low heat extraction or is cold pressed. The oil batches are then tested 5 different times and sent to a third party tester to ensure purity. youtube/watch?v=9aMDLdYoXaM
