2.30am. Dod the cat came in with a rat in the middle of the night. Spent an hour and a half trying to catch rat in tag team with cat. Eventually caught rat, rat bites thumb and wont let go - cant open back door one handed. Kneeling on floor in pants, trying not be noisy (to avoid waking baby) with both (bleeding) hands out catflap trying to get rat to let go and the cat trying to get in on the action climbing on my back. Now knackered all day and requiring visit to doctor for inoculation. Cat ate breakfast and sleeping on sofa.
