2 October Entering God’s presence Daily Readings 1. 1 Chronicles 16 2. Ezekiel 28 3. Galations 1-2 “Give thanks to the LORD, proclaim his greatness; tell the nations what he has done. Sing praise to the LORD; tell the wonderful things he has done. Be glad that we belong to him; let all who worship him rejoice! Go to the LORD for help, and worship him continually.’” 1 Chronicles 16:8 – 11 (GNB) ‘Seek God’s presence continually,” is the advice king David gives in this song. He also gives us pointers of things that help us enter into His presence: Having our hearts full of thanksgiving that we can come into His presence because of the finished work of the cross; that this great and glorious God, who desires to fellowship with us has loved us enough to sacrifice his only begotten Son in order this to happen, releases a sense of entering into his presence. When we burst into worship through songs that declare His greatness and the wonderful things He has done, this action assists us to enter into his presence. When we seek the Lord and His strength with all of our hearts and worship springs up from our inner being (our spirits), the Spirit ushers us into his presence. When we seek His presence continually we become aware of His presence continually. The Hebrew word for continually is “tamiyd” which means we must seek the Lord evermore (never stop), constantly, regularly and daily. “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:4 - 5 Tim Watson
