2 days back my sister noticed that Snoopy , our 15 year old daschunds breathing was irregular so we took him to the animal hospital and did an x-ray. He has an enlarged heart. Today we did the echo and ecg. His heart is very weak and the vet is surprised that he is alive. He is walking around and eating his meals and is in no pain but he could leave us anytime because of his weak heart. Currently he is on meds which will increase his heart rate. The best we could do right now is to keep him as comfortable as possible. This is just heartbreaking.
