2 years ago today was Angelas gathering. It was a lovely service with so many friends and family in attendance. Afterwards we had a Celebration of Angelas Life. We all got a bit tipsy, danced to some of Angelas favourite songs (one was a bit rude!) and talked about happy, fun and funny things that Angela had said or done. Angela would be amazed that together weve so far raised £28,740.35 in just over 2 years for Angelas Small Cell Gynae Cancer Fund! Shed be so happy that this money will be funding the worlds first research that will give hope to others and hopefully soon start saving lives! It all started with me and Angela holding an open house sale with so many friends and family helping out, which amazingly raised over £4,000! We couldnt believe it! On this day 2 years ago we had raised almost £9,000! That was only 3 months after her non-terminal diagnosis, terminal diagnosis came over 2 months later. Also after her diagnosis some of Angelas good friends had head shaves with one doing a sack & crack wax! Angela only just made it on time to the pub for this as she was having a blood transfusion, to quote her Cant you make the blood go faster? My friends are having a charity head shave for me in an hour! I have to be there! Come on, make it faster! Put it on full speed, Ive got to go soon! Despite being tired from just having an entire blood transfusion and still recovering from palliative chemo, she went to the pub head shave and stayed a few hours, smiling, laughing and enjoying herself. She didnt let anything hold her back! She was an amazing person and an amazing sister.
