200 years ago my North American ancestors were in New York and Canada. They owned their small farms and were freer than I am today. They were self reliant rather than dependent of systems that can both abuse and fail. They knew no matter what happened they could take care of themselves and if they really needed help they knew they could count on their neighbor/friends. In todays world it is dependency both real and imagined (propagandized ie government telling us how much we need them for what ever reason) that is enslaving us. Corporate-government is the master and dependency is the means. Only in a world such as our, as the screws are tightening are we beginning to see/feel the true cost of own material dependence on our masters and masters distributors.
