2000s: Wild Zero (1999 japan, 2003 us dvd) Any review of this is gonna sound like word salad. Insane. Japanese. Rock and Roll. Guitar, Bass and Drum Wolf. A villain in tightie-whiteys who is far too excited in every scene. His bodyguard has the creepiest shaved eyebrows since bob geldof. There are flying saucers. More Rock and Roll. Blood. Exploding Blood. The american equivilent to this would have been a Roger Corman/Ramones gore-fest, but really even that wouldnt hit the heights of disgusting silliness as this. My brain really wants to make sense of it, to put it in a box I understand. Its stephen chow directing visitor q. something like that. Thats really not fair, though. This is a crazy-ass movie. When its slow its still nuts, and its rarely slow. Check it out if you get the chance and can stand japanese comendy horror and a LOT of Guitar Wolf (really, this is a guitar wolf movie the way rock n roll high school was the ramones movie. if you cant stand them, its gonna be a long hour and a half). wtf/5
