2008. – 2011. Latvia engaged with Security and Escort Company in Provincial Reconstruction Team Memaneh to provide patrols, escorts and security functions for Provincial Reconstruction Team as well as neutralization of explosive objects. 2008. – 2010. Latvian Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team (OMLT) in cooperation with the US forces were deployed to Kunar, Nuristan and Nangarhar provinces in the Regional Command East. The OMLT provided training and mentoring to the Afghan National Army (ANA) as well as liaison capability between ANA and ISAF forces. 2011. - 2012. Latvia deployed the Maneuver Company to Provincial Reconstruction Team Memaneh, replacing previous engagement with Security and Escort Company. The Maneuver Company carried out advisory and co-operation functions to Afghan National Army battalion-level units to support local ownership and transition process. #isafnic Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia
