2009 Yamaha V Star 1300 Base Intro The 2009 Yamaha V-Star 1300 is a streamlined monster of a bike thats powered by a big, 80-cubic-inch, fuel-injected engine. The V-Star 1300s SOHC, four-valve, 60-degree, 1304cc V-twin engine pumps out the most power and torque in its class, yet thanks to its ingenious powerplant design, vibration is virtually eliminated, allowing for a smooth and relaxed ride. The Yamaha V-Star 1300 boasts a powerful valve train, featuring a 36mm intake and 32mm exhaust valves with single springs set at 20 degrees for unprecedented power and torque. The bikes 100mm cylinders are ceramic composite-plated, which provides more uniform heat dissipation while reducing the bikes weight and prolonging the life of the cylinders. The 2009 Yamaha V-Star 1300 features a smooth-shifting, five-speed transmission, with fifth gear overdrive producing reduced rpms (3400 rpm at 110 km/hr) at highway speeds for a more comfortable and casual driving experience. The two-into-one exhaust system features a three-way honeycomb catalyzer at the entry point to the muffler and an air induction system that effectively reduces emissions while delivering a satisfying throaty growl that one wants to hear out of this type of bike. The belt that drives the Yamaha V-Star 1300s rear tire is exclusive to this model. The belt features a high-tensile strength carbon core that helps improve drive torsion, while reducing the maintenance needs of the bike. The 2009 Yamaha V-Stars double cradle steel frame improves rider ergonomics, while the rigid-mounted engine system optimizes overall rigidity balance for superior handling. The 1300 is a long and low bike, with a wheelbase of 66.5 inches and a seat height of 28.1 inches. Weight distribution on the bike is 48-percent to the front and 52-percent to the rear. Stopping power is exceptional, thanks to dual hydraulic 298mm floating front discs and a single 298mm rear disc. The bikes exterior is designed for ultimate driver and passenger comfort. Highlights include the one-inch, rubber-mounted handlebars; thickly padded seats; and an easy-to-read instrument panel. Standard instruments feature a gorgeous red background illumination and include the speedometer, digital odometer, fuel gauges, dual tripmeters, clock, and all of the necessary warning lights. The 4.9-gallon teardrop fuel tank has a flush-mounted filler cap for a clean, seamless design that finishes off the bikes exterior beautifully. To finish off the 1300, Yamaha has included a blazing 60/55-watt, high-intensity, fully adjustable halogen headlight, two 35-watt accessory light connectors inside the headlight shell for accessory passing lamps, extra-wide front brake and clutch levers, a convenient under-seat helmet holder, passenger foot pegs, and best-in-class chrome accents and exterior paint work. Yamahas biggest V-Star bike is available in two models, the base and the Tourer. The Tourer edition features several key extras that are designed to accentuate the cruising experience, including a windshield, plenty of roomy storage with its locking saddlebags, and a plush passenger backrest. Both models feature standard spacious rider floorboards for the ultimate in function and comfort. The 2009 V-Star 1300 base is available in Raven Black and Pearl White, while the Tourer offers Candy Red and Galaxy Blue color schemes.
