2013 Hoodoo Festival UPDATE: Visit our website often this week for new workshops to be added! We have very limited camping space still available; once it is gone we will ONLY have day-trip/multi day-trip registrations available. Pre-registration for this event is required. Join us on Wednesday September 18th beginning at 3pm to Sunday September 22nd, 2013 for the 3rd annual West KY Hoodoo Rootworker Heritage Festival, a festival of learning, rituals, and celebration of Ancestor Folk Healing Traditions. The festival will be held at Spring Ledge Farm in Hopkinsville, KY. Workshops and rituals are based on the following traditions: Hoodoo: Rootworking and Conjure, Powwow, Grannie Magic, and Afro-Caribbean Traditions. Guest Presenters include: *Byron Ballard Author of Staubs and Ditchwater: a Friendly and Useful Introduction to Hillfolks’ Hoodoo *Professor Jack Montgomery Author of American Shamans and Musician with the band WaterSprite *Temperance of Temperance Alchemy and Numen Botanicals, LLC *Stephanie Palm of Music City Mojo and Society of the Crooked Crossroads Primitive Witchery Guest Entertainers include: *Tuatha Dea *Lonesome Liz *Watersprite 2013 Hoodoo Festival schedule can be found at spiritoftheearth.org/Hoodoo-Fest-Schedule.html Pre-Registration for this event is required. Due to the topics and nature of material which will be presented during the weekend - Children under the age of 18 are prohibited. Festivities will include: Workshops, Rituals, Fire Spinning, Late Night Divination, Music, Merchants Square, and much more. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN AT: spiritoftheearth.org/HoodooRootworkerHeritageFestival.html *For groups of 6 or more people a group discount is available, please contact the Spirit of the Earth Church office for more information. Facilities: Our festivals take place at Spring Ledge Farms a beautiful 200 acre private farm in Western Kentucky. Festivals are tent camping or RV only, there are no cabins. Port-a-toilets, outdoor shower, and sink are provided. Our site has full kitchen facilities. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks are provided during the entire event and are prepared on site. We do ask that each participant bring a potluck dish as part of our community potluck dinner. If you have any food allergies please let us know upon registration. For special dietary needs- limited space is available in the kitchen for special circumstances on a first come first serve basis, please contact our office for more information. Merchants: All merchants space is divided up into 10x20 spaces. Camping is available behind your merchant space. Merchants are welcome to arrive and set up on Wednesday morning, please let us know what time you will be arriving.
