2014-09-17 MOZAMBIQUE SEEKS 1.4 BILLION DOLLARS FROM CHINA FOR 11 PROJECTS The Mozambican government has just submitted a funding request to the Chinese government in the order of 1.4 billion dollars to fund infrastructure projects. The Finance Minister, Manuel Chang, said this application for credit will put 11 projects in the pipeline that otherwise cannot be completed due to lack of financial resources. Most of these projects, according to the Finance Minister, are for the construction of roads, bridges, schools and hospitals. Right now, we know that the Chinese Government is considering our request, and we are waiting for their response, said Chang, who added that the project of rebuilding the fishing port of Beira is part of that portfolio projects.
