2014: A Year to Remember! Coming to existence in 2004, LUCKY TRIMMER will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary this upcoming year. Many ideas have been floating around the LUCKY headquarters on how to commemorate this very special event with style. Needless to say that the LUCKY Team would not miss the chance to organize a little something out of the ordinary for this birthday. We are proud to have been able to navigate our ship of ideas through choppy waters for a decade with unshakable enthusiasm, offering a platform to more than 150 artists and leaving lasting impressions on an ever growing audience. Both the lightness of entertainment and the awe of challenging artistic quality have characterized the LUCKY TRIMMER Tanz Performance Serie since its inception. Therefore, what better way to celebrate LUCKY TRIMMER´s success than rejoicing in some of its most acclaimed pieces of the last 10 years? “10 Years LUCKY TRIMMER Best Of” promises to capture our hearts and minds once more and steal our breath all over again in April, 2014. If you have fallen in love with one (or more) of our LUCKY pieces and believe that it must be featured in the “Best Of” show, raise your voice and leave us a comment now! In 2014 the LUCKY TRIMMER Birthday coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. To immortalize these two outstanding historical events, LUCKY TRIMMER will curate a special program entitled: “The Wall”. For the first time in the LUCKY History we ask artists to create a 10 minute max piece on a specific topic. This program is co-produced by the MACHOL SHALEM Dance House and will premiere in Berlin in October/November 2014 with additional shows in Jerusalem (International Dance Week 2014) and New York (Abrons Arts Center) in November/December 2014. Very shortly we will release a call of entries seeking excellent pieces related to your personal experiences and ideas about the Berlin Wall, its Fall as well as the individual and global consequences on todays views on issues - such as separation, belonging, identity or integration. Possible aspects we would like to address are: Still existing differences between East and West Germany, the European blockade against refugees, the ideological wall between North and South Korea, the Green Line in Nicosia, the effects of walls and settlement projects in Israel and Palestine, among others.
