2014 ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit Event Celebration Concert Song of Asia 11, November 2014 (Thu) 7:30PM KBS hall (located in 여의도 Yeouido ) ‘Song of Asia’, being held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of dialogue relations between ASEAN and Korea, is the choir performance by Asian Youth Choir for One (AYCO), consisting of 40 members selected from Korea and 10 ASEAN countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. This performance will service as the cornerstone in realizing harmony and cultivating friendship through culture and art exchange, and is to deliver the message of friendship and peace by presenting a celestial harmony. AYCO is a choir that consists of young men in Korea and 10 ASEAN countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. As a commemorative event of 2014 ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit, this performance is produced by Music for One Foundation, and is organized with professor Yoon, Eui Joong at Hansei University appointed as the music director and conductor. AYCO, for the understanding of cultural differences among Asian countries and as part of culture & art exchange, consists of young men between the ages of 18-29 that majored in music that were selected through auditions. The choir members participated in a systematic 2-week camp program of ensemble practices, seminars, and debates to perform on the final stage; they experience the unity through the understanding of the cultural characters of each country and music.
