2014 Devo 26: BANDAGE FOR WORDS A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness. The LORD is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good. Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Only a fool despises a parents* discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise. Proverbs 15:1-5 Sometimes people can be very cruel, especially with their words. On social media sites its easy to make a general statement about how someone hurt you, (even leaving out names) but still directing the comment toward someone specific. Saying things like, Some guys need to get a clue on how to treat ladies. or Some people really rude. General statements but we all know its directed at someone specific. SO DONT DO IT! Dont be tempted to strike back at someone in anger. God corrects other peoples behaviors in His own way & His own timing. If other people are cruel try the following: A) Politely speak up for yourself & those who cant speak up for themselves. (take the person aside to do so in private) B) Forgive everyone as quickly as you can. (As God has forgiven you) C) Leave the rest up to God (Allow God to correct wrongs) D) Get on with your life. (Happiness in contagious & so is anger - choose wisely) WORDS MATTER _ CHOOSE WISELY !
