A teenage girl has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in Granville last year. In January 2014, officers attached to the Metropolitan Robbery Unit established Strike Force Tinga, to investigate a number of armed robberies at service stations in Sydney’s south west in December 2013. Specifically, on Wednesday 25 December 2013, a male and a female entered a service station on Blaxcell Street, allegedly armed with a Samurai sword and demanded money. They fled the scene with cash. About 8am today (Friday 7 March 2014), police executed a search warrant at a home on Namur Street, Granville, where they seized clothing and mobile phones. A 16-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and taken to Parramatta Police Station, where she was charged with robbery in company whilst armed with offensive weapon. She was granted conditional bail, to appear at children’s court on Monday 24 April 2014. Police investigations continue.
