2014 Disney Fanatics Tournament of Animated Film Fellow Fanatics, the tournament is here and ready to go. We originally planned on running a duel tournament between animated and live action but there were so many animated films to choose from, the admins decided to go with an all animated film tournament. The rankings are done and as you will notice, there are more than 64 so, yes, there will be a play off for the 16 seeds. The rankings needed to be based on a legitimate criteria and not just my opinion so to make the ranking system credible, they were based on Gross Income factored into the inflation formula. (I.E. $75Million in 1955 could easily be worth over $900Million today) That is what the rankings were based on. Also, please keep in mind that there are some franchised films like Toy Story, Cars, etc... They are all considered as one. Toy Story 1, 2 & 3 is just Toy Story and straight to DVD film were not considered. These are main stream films only. Sorry Tink. Please, some of you may not agree with the rankings. Feel free to comment and explain why but be respectful. And yes, based on todays standards, Frozen may be the all time highest grossing animated film in history but when factored into the inflation formula, others would have made more had ticket prices been $12.00 in their respective year. My only Biased film is Snow White. If factoring Money, it was not #3, in fact closer to 10 overall, but it was the film that started it all and I feel it deserves a 1 seed.
