After sharing with you a few tips on how to study the Bible today i want to look at the subject of GODS GRACE. Lets start by asking the question---What is grace? Its one of those words that we use quite often in the English language in a number of different contexts. --We say grace over meals; --we say an athlete or dancer is graceful; --our insurance company offers a grace period when were late with our payment. Each of these uses of the word grace hint at the Biblical meaning of the word, which can best be described this way, Grace is Gods undeserved kindness. Gods mercy, Gods love, Gods forgiveness are not given to us because they are deserved; these are not things that we earn with our good behavior. God gives us these things--and so much more--in spite of the fact that we dont deserve his kindness. GRACE IS : GODS REWARD TO US AT CHRIST EXPENSE. Some of you may be thinking… Yea, yea Ive tried that already. I turned over a new leaf. I made New Years Resolutions. I joined a spa. I went to AA. I even tried church. And I wound up feeling worse than ever before. If youve blown it in the past, youre probably struggling with guilt today, Theres nothing in the world more haunting than feelings of guilt. If only” I had done things differently. “If only” I could change the past. “If only” I were a better person, then my life would be so much better today Thats how the devil works, he always brings our past sins before us to make us feel guilty, even though he have given them over to Jesus....
