2014 Election rigging update From a friend: I was @ the counting station today when the political party representatives came in for their press release & meeting with the MOG (Multi National Observer Group) to whom they also presented their grievances. Issues highlighted by the agents & candidates themselves were; 1.Seals on ballot boxes were already broken for some of those in the Pre-polling boxes. 2.All polling booths used polling books so all the ballot papers in one box logically were to have the same sequence number, being that they were from the same polling station. This is not case. Some boxes opened had varying serial numbers for the ballot 3.An interesting case was for FLP Candidate, Jone Bebe (247), who voted @ his village in Wainibuka, where polling was held. He voted for himself, in his village polling station. When the box was opened @ the counting centre in Suva, he had zero (0) vote despite the fact that he had voted for himself @ his village where polling was held. Where did his vote go? 4.When voting closed in Pre-Polling stations, the boxes were not opened to be counted their first as was initially stated. They were all closed & shipped directly to Suva and held @ the Williams Goslings yard for 2 weeks, and then opened & counted for the first time in Suva. 5.Results were conveyed by mobile phone from the polling stations who voted on the 17th to the count centre, then updated even before the boxes had arrived to be counted @ the count centre. What if someone knowingly impersonated a presiding officer, called the count centre and gave fake results?? No checks and balances?? 6.After 10 pm last nite, SOE, advised their would be no recounts of any ballot boxes. Will be there again tonite, keep you posted. Members of the media themselves were flabbergasted at the results themselves. SOE had predicted a 75%+ election turn out, which according to a member of the MOG would make it a near perfect election.
