2014 My page my views I celebrated the deaths of Saddam, Qaddafi, Bin Laden as these men were suppressors of democracy. I will also celebrate the passing of Sandip Patel - owner of Fiji Sun and Rewa Dairy amongst other things. Why? Because this man was a primary supporter and not to mention beneficiary of the Bainimarama regime and unashamedly used the Fiji Sun as the propaganda machine to run the regime agenda and to discredit all regime opponents such as Qarase, Kepa, Chaudhry and others. And for me blood is thicker than water despite what some other family members think. Sandip ensured that the Fiji Sun undermined all persons who wanted democratic change and by doing so helped entrench the illegal Bainimarama regime post April 2009 once his company acquired the Fiji Sun. This, in my view, makes Sandip no better than other persons who I view with contempt. However my views aside, Sandip was dealt with the proverbial last card not by his critics and despisers but by God and at a youngish age of 53. And if God so decides who are we mere mortals to object?
