2014, for me, was a year of some very tough lessons. Losing my job - TopicsExpress

2014, for me, was a year of some very tough lessons. Losing my job to downsizing in June was perhaps the hardest lesson of all. My lesson learned.... the ONLY thing you carry with you from day one until your final breath is your life.... your story...so make the most of it. All else, despite what wed like to believe, is temporary. Out of the harsh lessons from 2014 came some very positive things. Without losing a career that I was engulfed in, I never would have had time to write my book...You Cant Feed Butter to a Cat. The first few steps of this journey have been remarkable and I look forward in anticipation to see where the next steps take me. I also discovered the joy of serving others. Immersed in my career, I had always felt that I didnt have time to do the BIG things that it took to help others. 2014 gave me the time to volunteer withe the SubZero Mission, collecting coats and warming items for those in need. In volunteering, I learned that its not the BIG things that you do to help folks that make a difference. Its the little things. I learned that a lot of good can be done by giving just an hour or two at a time. In 2014, life certainly handed me my fair share of lemons. I learned that I really like lemonade, lemon merengue pie, lemon bars, and a multitude of other citrusy treats. I hope that you have had a great 2014 and as I look forward to 2015 I pray that life gives you all more good health, good wealth and good times than you could ever expect.
