2014 has brought some good and bad in our lives. God surely knows how to place people in our life at the right moment. In Feb. of this year Ashton and Reese came into Austins life. They share such a incredible bond. They are more like brother and sisters now than friends. They always encourage Austin and make him feel good about himself, even when he gained 30 pounds from steroids and he was down on his self they knew just how to pick him back up. I am so thankful to have them in Austins life as well as their entire family in our life. Dont know where we all would be without them. We have been devastated this year with the news of Austins tumor. He was given the diagnosis of the worst brain tumor in May. It is Glioblastoma multiforme stage 4. There is no cure. Marty and I have been asked so many times how do we do this? When your child is sick you do what you have to. NO we do not want to do this!! Marty and I continue to struggle most everyday. It has been a tough year. We all have been through so much in the past 8 years. We had 5 good years with Austin cancer free, but we were always worried that something would happen to him. When you go through leukemia and then bone marrow transplant it is hard to just put away the worry. So our emotions were always up and down during that 5 years. We believe in miracles and have faith that God will heal Austin here on this earth. WE have seen miracles happen. Jordan Thomason is a fine example! If you dont believe in miracles you need to meet this guy and his mom and learn about him. His story will make you a believer. :) In 2015 we plan more fun times, and adventures. We are keeping our heads on straight and fighting this full speed ahead. Austin is tough! His will to fight and live is incredible. He trust that God will take care of him. Austin inspires me so much!!!! Marty and I are lucky to be his parents. Happy New Year everyone!!!
