2014 was an amazing year for THE COMPANY both on and off the competition field, we had brand new Uniforms for the very first time in our existence and thanks to our very good friends Pearl Drums Europe and Adams Percussion we were able to replace out entire Percussion section which was much needed Competitively we finished as Runners Up in DCUK : Drum Corps United Kingdom (Official) to the excellent Kidsgrove Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (Official) but the following weekend at Drum Corps Europe (official) we were crowned DCE European Champions for the 3rd time in 4 years! The 2014 show FOUR was a departure from our more story telling productions as the Design team wanted a more sophisticated look and emotional engagement with the audience, we experimented once again with Georgia Rae Kilshaw doing an excellent job singing during Autumn (Leaves) we also had Calum Dalton on Accoustic guitarist who was just 17 years old and completely new to Drum Corps We also wanted to feature our synth players and Kirsty White and Katy Kennedy did a sterling job as they came from behind the big black boxes and took a more prominent role with the ensemble Our Staff were once again top notch and after a difficult start to the season from a numbers point of view, we finished with a healthy Corps membership and a very close education team, praise has to be paid to Ian Butt and Andrew Markworth our Design Team who once put together a beautiful production which engaged audience and adjudicators We also need to mention Mark Pickles who is the heartbeat of the Ensemble and who made a vision of a 10 foot tree that was able to turn to represent the 4 seasons and was transportable a reality, a man who never stops and always thinks of others from a logistics point of view in addition to running the very talented Percussion Section So to 2015, we have a fantastic production VOYAGE SPECTACLE which everyone involved with the Ensemble is excited about, the majority of our Colourguard are marching with Oracle Winter Guard and we have members in both NAPA and Mayflower and we are looking forward to cheering them on in WGUK this year We need to raise money, running a competitive Drum Corps is an expensive hobby and we want to provide the members with a wonderful experience at an affordable cost, we have made massive strides over the past 12 months and we will continue to make many more with help of supporters, endorsers and sponsors and we thank you for your support in 2014 We wish every Drum and Bugle Corps in the United Kingdom and Europe the very best in 2015 we are proud to be active members of DCUK and DCE and we are excited to present VOYAGLE SPECTACLE to audiences in 2015 Thank you FOUR an amazing 2014 please keep checking in on THE COMPANY Performance Ensemble in 2015 Mark Nicholson CO Director
