2015 - The battle for Nigerias Future Please read to the end and read slowly... I write this out of deep concern and sincerity. I might not be politically correct or have the ability to state dates and times within Nigerias rich history but I tell you the signs are there for all to see that the 2015 polls are not just Another Election but the battle for Nigerias future. Leadership has taught me some very valuable lessons one of which is It is very easy to see what is possible when you are not the one leading because you do not really understand the dynamics of performance until you are the one sitting in the chair and wearing the shoes. I have never been president of Nigeria but do I feel Goodluck Jonathan could have done more than he has done? Yes I do! Do I completely understand all the dynamics surrounding his choices and decisions? No I dont. It’s very easy for us to assume from where we are sitting now that the supposed change being peddled about will be better than what we see until we actually experience this change. For starters Change told us that because Jonathan wins elections this country will become ungovernable. Either by coincidence or sheer masterstroke (Think and conclude) Boko-Haram suddenly gained momentum and began to kill and maim people. Per chance it might be a statement to us all that only a certain group of people are entitled to rule this country. Change at some time also told us that Nigeria should be governed by Sharia Law; a law which recognizes no other religion save Islam. A country where our constitution clearly recognizes freedom of religion, Change said SHARIA should be enforced. In Zamfara (A state under SHARIA law) some years ago, a female Youth Corper was stoned to death just for wearing trousers. Change says this is how it wants Nigeria to be governed in Imo, Delta, Lagos, Ekiti, Anambra and every part of Nigeria. The entire North has embraced SHARIA Law. What do you think will make it difficult to enforce in the South when Change is in the center of power with its cronies and supporters in other tiers of government? How long do you think we would be able to hold out? If we cannot hold out now SURELY we won’t be able to hold out then. Change keeps telling us that soon as it becomes president the insurgency will stop. It seems to have this cock-sure attitude like it wields the power of the insurgency; can just push a button or make a phone call and the BH boys will close shop. What hurts and even deepens the crevices of worry on my forehead is the fact that if Change loves this country as much as it claims it would proffer its solutions to the current government so the killing can stop but no thats not what Change wants. Change wants this government to be seen in a bad light so it could come back in and Claim power. There is what is described as Collateral Damage. Those carrying out this mayhem have probably been told it is for a good cause so Change can be restored. No wonder Change told us that the baboon and monkey will be soaked in blood. I am NOT a member of any political party but I seriously feel that the elections in 2015 is more than it seems; it is a battle for OUR COLLECTIVE FUTURE. It’s time for us to make a statement that regardless of where you come from in Nigeria you can be president without fear that you will be forced out of office by blood. We need to come together and raise our voices for a free Nigeria where regardless of your ethnicity or religious preference you can enjoy freedom of expression and worship without fear of intimidation or even death. I would be praying sincerely as God gives me grace; for His will to be done because after all said and done His ultimate will shall prevail. What I will not do, and what you MUST not do either is go to the polls carelessly or with sentiments. Your spiritual antennae must be rightly tuned and vote as He directs. We might be dis-satisfied with what we see currently but the antecedents of Change are not encouraging either. In cases like this we must rely on Him who sees and knows all things; He alone can tell the end of a thing even from the beginning. If He says we you and I should vote Change then obviously we would do so in faith trusting that He knows what is best for us but except He says so go to the polls determined to ensure Change does not have its way. My plan wasnt to ruffle feathers or point fingers... I just spoke my heart. I love this country and it hurts to see it in this state; especially with brothers and sisters dying in the North. I wept when I saw Mubi... Change is good only when it TRULY is change. Get your voters card and ENSURE YOU VOTE. Whether you are Muslim or Christian VOTE with your heart as led by God and keep sentiments aside. Nigeria is bigger than any individual or group of persons. Let’s ensure everyone remains free in our country.
