2015 Elections - UEC Chairman held talks with the US diplomats ************************************************************************************ Chairman of Union Election Commission U Tin Aye met with US Ambassador to Myanmar Derek Mitchell and the U.S. State Department official Raymond Rich-hart at the UEC office in Nay Pyi taw, yesterday. On the occasion, the U.S. Ambassador asked implementations of UEC for 2015 elections. Concerning about that, the UEC chairman explained about the strategic plan (2014-2015) which was drawn with the assistance of the International Foundation for electoral system, compiling voting lists and pilot project for compiling the list and computerizing system, plans to establish a server at the UEC office to show the electoral process on the internet for the voters and collaboration with political parties and CSOs to amend the by-laws relating to the election. He also explained cooperation of UEC with international supporting bodies for the success of the 2015 elections and plans to conduct voter education training and invite international observers to the coming elections.
