2015 Guber: I Wont Surrender To Anyone - Ntekim The immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State, Barr. Ekpenyong Ntekim has said that despite rumors that the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio has a preferred candidate, he is in the contest with a determination to win and would never concede to anyone. Ntekim who was addressing newsmen in his campaign office yesterday while reacting to reports that he may have changed his mind on contesting the election, said such insinuation was incorrect as he will never surrender to anyone. The former Attorney General who emphasized that having come close to contesting for the office of governor, no amount of blackmail nor campaign of calumny would make him drop his ambition now. He noted that he does not want to be an Oro governor but that of Akwa Ibom where all sections of the state would feel his impact. According to him, Oro would work out modalities with other segments of the state to produce a governor who would be by merit, political cooperation and not by concession. He added that his administration would establish a school of orientation where youths would be trained for a minimum of one year to expose them to practical experiences of life while also stating that the Ibaka deep sea port would be given priority for completion. Barr. Ntekim said that his four year mandate would be to initiate a pragmatic and level-headed agenda directed at taking advantage of the height to which the state has been raised both in infrastructure and image rating to arrest the surging unemployment rate and systematically support social stability. He added that his core development policy would be anchored on development of rural areas for establishment of 10 integrated rural cities, integrated technology, reform of the technical education system, agro-industrial projects and integrated process of co-ordinated farming, logistics management, sales and marketing to substantially meet local food demand and promote foreign trade and guarantee increased income.
