2015 MV Agusta Brutale RR / Dragster RR MV Agusta has released details of two RR Brutale models after photos leaked earlier this week ahead of the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show. Both the Brutale 800 RR and Brutale 800 Dragster RR get more performance, better electronics, special color schemes and styling. These two Triples are the first non-four-cylinder models to get the RR designation. Building on the Brutale powerplant, the RR models get a 15 horsepower increase for a total of 140 at 13,100 rpm. Torque is rated at 63.4 lb-ft at 10,100 rpm. The extra power is achieved by a new airbox that contains a bank of “high” injectors that have 50mm diameter throttle bodies. A total of six injectors deliver fuel metered by an Eldor EM2.0 engine ECU. MV’s ride-by-wire Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS 2.0) has four ignition maps and eight levels of traction control. Clutchless upshifts are now possible with a new Quickshifter EAS 2.0. Downshifting is electronically assisted as well, a first in this segment. A 1380mm wheelbase is shared between the Brutale RR and Dragster RR based on an ALS tubular steel and aluminum frame. The DLC-coated 43mm Marzocchi upside-down fork features rebound, compression and preload adjustment. The Brutale RR gets gold anodizing while the Dragster RR gets red. At the rear a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock handles the 125mm of rear wheel travel. Braking duties are handled by an all-Brembo system. 320mm floating discs are gripped by 4-piston calipers at the front and a 2-piston caliper is mated to a 220mm disc on the rear wheel. The styling of the Brutale RR is “more conventional” following the original styling of the machine. The cylinder head has been painted red to work with the two new color schemes that are specific to the RR line. The seat has been reshaped for improved comfort and ergonomics with contrasting stitching. Cast aluminum alloy five-spoke wheels finish off the Brutale’s visual transformation. The Brutale 800 Dragster RR is the wild child of the two models with “stoplight burner” styling. Building on the Dragster’s already insane styling the RR gets new spoked wheels to put it over the top. Pricing has not been announced for the US yet, but expect to see the Brutale RR to bump up against the $18,000 mark and the Dragster to crest $20,000.
