2015; ONUESOKE URGES URHOBOS TO DRUM SUPPORT FOR JONATHAN , OKOWA Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has called on indigenes of Urhobo ethnicity in Delta State to put the paste behind them and rally support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid, Ifeanyi Okowa governorship bid and other PDP candidates success in Delta State in 2015 general election.Onuesoke, a Delta State PDP Governorship aspirant in 2007, who made the appeal while addressing newsmen at Osubi Airport, Warri, Delta State advised Urhobos to put the past behind them and vote enmass for Goodluck Jonathan presidency and Ifeanyi Okowa stressing that the failure of Urhobo anointed candidate in the primaries should not deter them from supporting PDP candidates in the coming election. Onuesoke who said Urhobo must be in the winning party by supporting PDP in Presidential, Senatorial, House of Representative and House of Assembly election said since Jonathan assumed office in May 29, 2011, his transformational agenda has impacted seriously on the people, adding that his economic team has been implementing far-reaching reforms and policies conceived in the economic blue print which seek, among other things, to revive the country’s infrastructure, diversify the economy from oil and create a vibrant economy. He pointed out that for Jonathan to fully implement his political, economical, infrastructural and social transformational agenda to the full benefit of Nigerians, he should be giving the opportunity for second term. “I am appealing to Urhobos to throw their weight behind Jonathan and other PDP candidates in the coming election. Despite that their anointed governorship candidate lost the Delta PDP Governorship primaries is not a reason to support another party. They should support Jonathan for President and Ifeanyi Okowa for Governor in Delta State,” Onuesoke advised, stressing that Urhobo should understand that PDP is one big family and they cannot afford to be left out in the one big happy family affairs. He said despite that Urhobos did not get what they wanted in this present dispensation, they should exercise patients as better opportunities are awaiting them in future. He described Delta State PDP Governorship candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as an intelligent and good administrator who would take Delta state to a greater height. if he wins the election. “Okowa is man I have been following with keen interest in Delta State and National Assembly. His contributions and achievements in Senate has lifted him above most of colleagues and if allowed to rule Delta State he will use his wealth of experience both as SSG in Delta State and member of National Assembly to build good condition of living for the people of Delta State,” he noted.
