2015 WE NIGERLITE YOUTHS WANT A VIBRANT YOUTH AS OUR NEXT GOVERNOR. BY COMRADE A.I.KOLO. (PRESS/SSA C & M) WE have heard the popular cliche times without number that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow & we have grown tired of hearing a cliche that is only meant to promote engagement &publicres ponsibility in the youths. How can the youths be leaders of tomorrow,when they have not even been given a proper chance to prove their potentials in today’s world? though the young do not know enough to be prudent,& therefore they attempt the impossible,& achieve it generation after generation. We the youths are not just leaders of tomorrow but also leaders of today b/c there cannot be a tomorrow,if today does not exist that is why we nigerlites are ready to campaign & vote youths into our government come 2015.So,how can the youth rule effectively tomorrow,if were not given the opportunity to prove our potentials today? Since the creation of niger state in 1979 we have never had it so good b/c all that we have been seeing are self serving & visionless corrupt wagons,no single refinery in our state to engage & make the youth productive. All were seeing are People who have milked our treasury right from national,state & local levels,now we have been given chance to take over power by 2015 why are we then such myopic & grumbling out of illusion some even castigating the chosen successor by the out going governor the chief servant just b/c their candidate is not the one at the front banner to succeed the out going governor. So,it is highly disappointing that in a great state like Niger state who is said to be the POWER STATE OF THE NATION,we youths have been relegated to the backstage & were being counseled with youths are the leaders of tomorrow when the tomorrow is no where to be sighted what happens to today?Take a look at the people who hold high positions in our country,you will find out that theyre mostly papas & ‘mamas’.we the Youths are not given the opportunity to create,innovate & display our great potentials. To the papas & Mamas,we the youths are people with great stake in our country,we have valuable knowledge & skills to contribute not only to the future,but also to today. When we the youths are seen as people that are meant only to rule tomorrow,we consequently cheat the nation out of valuable expertise, passion,creativity & energy. However,it is highly necessary for our leaders to begin to see we the youths as a distinct group with specific skills & abilities rather than simply resort to staid cliches such as youths are the leaders of tomorrow,youths are the future youths are the next generation of leaders blah,blah,blah. Moreover,to confer we the youths with the crown of tomorrow’s leadership is in effect robbing them of their ability & responsibility to be leaders & ideators of today.This does nothing but subject we the youths to a state of passivity, ineptitude & intellectual servitude. We the youths are not only leaders of tomorrow but of today & tomorrow that is why 2015 Gods willing youth will be our next governor let our voice be hear since were the voice of the nation. May God direct us to the right path & kill the syndrome & myopic ideology & blinked sentiment in us. May he open our eyes to know that 2015 governorship belong to Youths nothing more nothing less.
