20th ANNUAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWNARDS CEREMONY! WHO: The Historic Preservation Commission and City of Grand Rapids Planning Department. WHAT: 20TH Annual Historic Preservation Award Ceremony. The Award Ceremony has been created to recognize those groups and individuals that have made an impact on our community. Six preservation awards will be bestowed upon those, who through their efforts have restored and or renovated a piece of local history while at the same time having a positive physical, social and/or economic impact on their neighborhoods and subsequently the city as a whole. Winners: 556 Wealthy SE (David, Isaac & John LaGrand); 336 Visser Place SE (Lee Kitson Builders); 816 Madison SE (Camp Tall Turf & Midtown Craftsman); Wealthy Heights (Habitat for Humanity of Kent County); 47 Williams SW ( Mel Trotter Ministries); and, 619 Wealthy SE (619 Wealthy LLC). Two preservation awards will be presented to individual(s) who have given of themselves through volunteering and community activism to make their neighborhood and the City a better place to live.
