21 SECONDS How long is 21 seconds? Not even half a minute, But it is considered a significantly long duration. The reason for this significance is a bit amusing though. A team of researchers has claimed that all mammals bigger than a rat take 21 seconds to empty their bladders. This duration is the same for animals of all sizes. They have reached this conclusion on the basis of a serious study. They studied the videos of the animals urinating. They also visited the zoo a number of times to witness the act. The team consisted of engineers. They want to improve the engineering aspects of emptying various water bodies. Intellectual curiosity is the very basis of science and has led to startling discoveries and inventions. This study certainly ranks high on the scale of curiosity. However, the result needs to be validated. I do not know whether a different team would evaluate the findings. But I will check my timing to authenticate the limit of 21 seconds.
