212 - Kuala Lumpur - I finally got that gelatto last night. Orange pineapple. But the gimimick that I still resent is the give you the price for 100 grams which was 6 ringitt then they pack the small cup to overflowing and charge you for what theyve crammed into it. 16 Ringgit - $5.34 in my case. It happened so fast I had walked away before I realized it. Then, not 30 seconds later a well dressed PRC Chinese couple approached me, told me they had their money stolen and asked for 50 ringgit to get a cab back to their hotel. Now Im instantly on the defensive because that is an old trick but this guys shoes cost more than my laptop so I decide to give him 30 ringgit because I took the free city bus to get the the Pavillion Tower and they could figure out the same. Then I start to feel conflicted - am I being a jerk. Why give half a loaf. He wants my phone number so he can return the 50 ringgit tomorrow. I tell him to forget about it, then he counts the money and says this isnt 50 ringgit. I told him Im that what I had remaining was all I had until I get to a money changer, myself. That at least was true. But in the back of my mind Im thinking there is no 5 star hotel thats far enough out to involve a 50 ringgit cab ride. So I left feeling totally conflicted. Why did I only offer half a loaf? They were legit after all. Then Im thinking, do I look like an ATM? Anyway, I dont feel like I really helped much - they went off in search of 20 more ringgit! I collected some more mandala photos from the Mid Valley Mega Mall and the Nu Sentral Mall at Sentral station:
