#22, October 10. The Wolf Man, 1941. Universal Studios was responsible for some of the best monster movies of all time in the 30s and 40s. This outing is one of the best horror movies of any studio. Lon Chaney Jr plays Lawrence Talbot who gets bitten by a wolf, then becomes one himself. One of the most tragic characters in film, we feel bad for Talbot (or any werewolf in the movies...well most of the time) because he doesnt want to be nor wish to accept his fate. Bypassing explaining all of the technical aspects of the plot here, the movie delivers in mood and execution. The only thing that would make this movie better is a good transformation.
