24-Hour Public Weather Forecast Issued at : 5:00 AM 08 October 2014 SYNOPSIS: at 4:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon “OMPONG” was located based on all available data at 1,161 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.8ºN, 133.0ºE) with maximum winds of 215 kph and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph. Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao. FORECAST: Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, ARMM and SOCCSKSARGEN will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley, CAR and the provinces of Ilocos and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
