24 more hours. :) I just really need to say this - to those of you who are running, walking, volunteering, sponsoring, or encouraging - even as wordy as I am, I cannot find adequate ones for my gratitude. My Dad was not a man who did things (ok, ANYTHING) selfishly, he ALWAYS had others best interest at heart. Always. Family, student, colleagues, friends - you always came first in his mind, and in his heart. Thats what I think hed be most proud of all of us - that we join together to help the other families maybe not have to struggle through the pain and loss of mesothelioma. On race day, I catch a glimpse of him in all of you. If he were here, he would be standing at the finish line, applauding the fighter in each one of you - with his little one-sided, crap-eating grin. And he would mean it - all he ever wanted for any of us is to fully be who we were created to be. So tomorrow, know this - I will be there at the finish line, with my big, goofy grin, my heart completely full of admiration, and gratefulness, and that same desire for all of you. You are doing so much more than just running a 3.1 mile race. You are changing lives. There are people participating tomorrow who know the ravages of meso - I hope you share a minute or two with them tomorrow.
