25/09/2013. WEDNESDAY TOPIC: When the Tables Seem to Take Another Turn TEXT: Psalm 30:6-7 Sometimes, we reach heights, or depths and feel we can’t be shaken by nothing. We receive things from God and feel nothing would ever be taken away from us. We have the privilege of God’s Presence and we don’t expect there’d be days when it seems like God is Missiong In Action. At these points, it begins to feel like things are falling apart and we have to gather them up. We feel like we are responsible to fix everything ,else nothing would go well. It is at this point, beloved of God that we trust in our own understanding. Some of us grow resentful of God, some of us turn our backs against Him, some of us turn to humans or other temporary places that seem to fill the supposed vacuum created by God’s silence. I wonder what would have happened if all the virgins chose to loiter around or find other things to do because they couldn’t see the bridegroom right there with them. Like David, we may dismay(become anxious, worried, afraid, confused, panic), when in our lives, there is a ‘shaking’(which is different for every individual). This shaking could be the loss of a dear one, unsual silence from God, an ailment, guilt of sin, ministerial challenges, any struggle that gives us for a moment, the thought of an absent God. The right attitude isn’t to fret, or doubt that God is still on the throne and He is still very much aware of us.The right attitude isn’t to run away from God’s Presence and hold on to something or someone else(especially in the case of sin). Whatever it is, the attitude we should always demonstrate is remaining where God is, calling on His name, seeking Him earnestly. We know that God is never changing,His promises towards us are sure and if He has promised to always be with us, we can rejoice, instead of walking out on such a privilege. We can choose to trust in the never changing personality of God or figure out life for ourselves and watch as we hit the rocks. Have you fallen?Return to God-there is no where You can go where He still doesn’t see you.(Psalm 139:7)Call on Him and He shall restore you. Are you mourning or weary?Call on Jehovah and watch Him take that sackcloth of you(Psalm 30:11-12) PROPHETIC DECLARATION Because God remains enthroned over all and over me, I decree in the name of Jesus that my Faith in God shall never fail. I shall always trust in God and I shall testify in the land of the living that my God is a faithful God. Amen. PRAYER POINTS 1. Oh Lord, In the day of adversary, may I not fail in Jesus’ Name 2. Help me LORD to always call on you. May I not put my strength in other gods. 3. Father, help Your Church, and Your ministers to always trust, rely on You completely 4. I decree in the Name of Jesus that this day(night) set before me is blessed 5. I shall not die, but live and would declare God’s works. Amen. BIBLE READING IN ONE YEAR: PROVERBS 25-27
