$25,315 raised by 223 people in 3 days. And if you were to count Allahs favors, you would not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. [Surah al-Nahl: 18] NEVER did we think we would not only reach our goal, but surpass it within 3 days. We planned that it would take at least 3-4 weeks with not only a social media campaign, but a vigorous masjid to masjid, door to door blitzkrieg. But we forgot the promise of our Creator: ...And they planned, and Allah also planned; and Allah is the Best of planners.[3:55] We plan to start by next week and inshaallah, be done before Eid. We are STILL collecting any donations through this week for numerous reasons. The original amount was to cover BASIC necessities like shelter, food and clothing. But both families lack many things such as dishes, appliances, towels, pillows, blankets etc...So ANY extra amount collected throughout this week will go to supplying the families with such items so they have some basic supplies when they move in. ***SPECIAL REQUEST*** If ANYONE has any NEW appliances, dishes, pots, pans, blankets, pillows, carpets, etc.... We will be collecting them and providing them to these families. You can drop off these NEW items at the following locations in Brooklyn: 1. Arab American Association of New York 2. Al-Ansar Center Inc. If you cant reach these places but would like to donate those following items, please send us a message and we will do our best to send volunteers to pick them up from a location near you.
