25 / Aug / 2013: President Hamid Karzai traveling to Pakistan for peace talks:- President Karzai will leave for Pakistan on Monday to try to secure Islamabad’s cooperation in the Afghan reconciliation program, the foreign ministry announced. President Karzai in his trip to Islamabad will discuss the fight against terrorism and how to bring Taliban members to the negotiation table. He will also discuss the release of Taliban inmates (prisoners). Karzai has visited Pakistan 19 times, but he described this trip to Islamabad as being particularly important. He said he is looking forward to this trip and that he hoped to achieve satisfactory results. Sartaj Aziz, advisor to the prime minister of Pakistan, invited Hamid Karzai to come to Pakistan a month before his visit to Kabul. But Mr. Karzai stated, “Until Pakistan expresses a clear agenda, he will not go there.” At the same time, Jawed Kohistani, a military expert, said that he believes that Pakistan does not do anything in bringing peace to Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Indian officials are also trying to have more meetings with Afghan officials.
