26 years ago this halloween I had the pleasure of meeting this guy. He inspired me then and still does now. Story - I was on tour with my brother Judson in London whos record was executive produced by Jimmy Iovine. Iovine had also been producing Rattle and Hum at the same studio, A&M in LA, and had Judson provide claps on the track Desire. Our tour just happen to be in London the same week that the film Rattle and Hum was having its London premiere and Judson along with his manager, Michael Dixon were invited. Lucky for me, on the night of, Jud became ill at the last minute and asked little brother to go in his place. Dixon, who was already at the Empire Theatre, sent a car for me and I felt like Cinderella as I walked the red carpet alone. Sat next to Bob Geldof, went to after party at the Natural History Museum (full-size dinosaur in the room), talked with Bono for a bit then spent the rest of the night laughing and joking with Michael Keaton who was there shooting the first Batman movie. Pretty cool night for a kid from small town Mississippi. Thanks Marjorie Searcy for posting this!
