26 years ago today I lost my precious Daddy, Pete Hurst! Daddy was the most caring, loving, giving person ever! I was blessed to call him my Daddy! He had been thru so much in his life. Losing both parents at age 16 and accepting the call at the funeral home where he worked! He was in World War II and fought on the front lines in the infantry for 4 years to make our country free and protect us! He worked at Marhoefer Packing delivery Their products for over 30 years until he had a heart attack and had to retire! He was driving the Marhoefer truck in our home town which we called dump hill in Milltown when I was only a year old! His brakes went out and he hit a train to keep from hitting a bus full of kids! he was really hurt bad! It was a miracle all that was left of the truck was a tiny spot in the corner of the drivers side of the truck! My precious daddy had a long road of survival ahead of him! By the grace of the Good Lord and alot of love and care from his family he survived! He had a wife and family to support and he knew he had to survive for us! Love and miss you more and more with each and everyday! I was Daddys little girl! he loved his kids and especially his grandbabies and all little children! Daddy I know one day soon I will be with you and Mother in Heaven for eternity! What a glorious day that will be! Until then I am so blessed to have my family Jamin, Rebecca, Annabelle, Avery and Amelia to love and enjoy! Went to eat lunch with Avery and Amelia today at school! I am so very blessed and those precious girls will never know how much they helped their Mamaw to get through the anniversary of a very sad day!
