27/8/2014 Our adventure to Whistler. Early start we planned! Well that didnt quite happen. After the boys ventured off to find a rental car and discovered they couldnt hire a car as we didnt have a MasterCard which they did! They were directed to a friend of the car hire man at budget to a guy (CROATIAN - not racist but they are the human trafficking capital of the world) who would 1. Pick them up in there hire car (which they never got the option to pick) 2. Drive them to and underground car park Where there were no hire cars with wait for it *** magically*** a eftpos machine which accepted MasterCard whilst being questioned about where they were staying how long the were here and many more suspect questions. After signalling the slit throat sign to Will in the front seat and failing at trying to get out of the locked car they eventually managed to open the door by putting the window down n opening it that way, then telling the guy they no longer needed a hire car n bolted! SCARY. From there they walked to another hire car place and were successful at achieving the goal. A white Honda civic with a ghetto car seat for the little tot! So and hour and 45 minutes later Bek and I were concerned. Where were the boys? Had they got lost? Had they crashed off the lions gate bridge? Had they been human trafficked? So many questions. Around 10 min later here they pulled up and all seemed tense. BOY We have a story for you! so they did!!!!! To whistler we went. As beautiful as I remember minus the snow and HOT as hell! Boy was it hot. We looked around at some rentals and were amazed n in love - the boys keep looking at the price tag but we are trying to tell them its a life experience. We needed to let the little tot roam a bit before the drive back so we ventured to Alpha Lake and let him run free - it was sooooo busy and beautiful! Easy to say we slept well last night. x ✌️
