28% expenditure registered during 1st Qtr of the current fiscal ANANTNAG, JULY 25: An amount of Rs 498.72 lakhs against the availability of Rs 1761.60 lakhs has been expended in Anantnag district during the 1st quarter of current fiscal under MGNREGA. This was stated in a officers meeting held here today with District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone in chair. Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development and Block Development Officers of all the blocks were also present in the meeting. It was stated that out of a total 1747 works taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 1896.66 lakhs, 651 works have been completed so far thereby generating 181800 mandays in the district. Under IAY, an expenditure of Rs. 173.836 lakhs has been made for construction of 914 households including 344 households constructed for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Similarly an amount of Rs. 90.95 lakhs has been expended on the works taken up for construction of 70 Panchayat Ghars during the current financial year. The District Development Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to mobilize their resources for making expenditure of the entire amount available with them thereby creating valuable assets for the rural population.
