2Good 2B True... Thanks to fracking, more Americans are closer to affording the dream home where the furnace and air conditioner battle to maintain perfect indoor air temperature. There are 36,000 fracking wells in the U.S. and more are on the way. Goodbye unemployment! The discovery of huge reservoirs of natural gas has decreased the price 86% since 2008, and increased the number of export applications filed with the U.S. government. Goodbye trade deficit! Oh by the way, natural gas releases fewer greenhouse gases than coal, so it’s better for the environment. You’re welcome tree huggers! There’s way too much lipstick on that fracking pig! Well-planned parallel paths are in the best interest of the country, but Americans are wandering in circles following corporate interests promising an easy and profitable way out of this mess. Thanks to shortsighted, unimaginative authorities, who focused climate change and energy independence efforts on fracking, America now has an abundance of dirt cheap “less bad” fossil fuel, and no system in place to liquefy and export it. No worries, Congress will expedite the export applications by repealing all those pesky environmental requirements, and America’s legacy will become a farcical search for clean energy.
