2nd Annual National Youth Institute Film Festival Congratulations to all the winners for Best Picture and Best Teen Magazine Design. It was an amazing summer for all of the Youth Institute (YI) Replication sites and we added a few more sites this summer – Seattle KTUB Youth Institute, Crenshaw Youth Institute and second Long Beach site @ Trinity. We are the largest producer of “teen digital media content” of any program globally. This summer alone – 19 published teen magazines and over 130 teen short films. A big congratulations goes out to our partners: Anaheim Family YMCA, YMCA of Central Bay Area, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, YMCA of Rapid City, YMCA of Greater Seattle, San Luis Obispo County YMCA, YMCA of Silicon Valley and THINK Together, Inc. Over 300 teens and staff from all 17 Youth Institute Replication Sites were in attendance this past Saturday at the Long Beach Scottish Rite Event Center. Each YI site submitted their Best Teen short film and Teen Magazine to compete against each other in the following categories: Middle School, New Class High School and Alumni High School. It was a very difficult process for our panel of judges to select – 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category in teen short films and the teen magazine.
