# 3: Say It Right (2006) by Nelly Furtado and Timbaland. Ive got so much to say about Say It Right. Where do I start? Hopefully Ill say it right and Ill wont forget all the details. First of all ... the opening song of Miss Universe 2007! Oelala! But the irony is that I didnt care much about this song till 2008, when I rediscovered it ... for some personal reasons ... oh, the memories ... never mind ... Okay, back to business: I annoyed so many people, and still do, by playing this song over and over and over and over again ... 24/7 ... 7 days a week ... 365¼ days a year. Even when I was at work I played this song ... like food to my soul. The composition of this song is really unique and simple: when the chorus is sung for the second time there isnt even a bridge ... Nelly starts right away with the third section ... and after that, the chorus isnt even repeated. But still ... Say It Right is my third favorite song of all time. Crazy, isnt it? I have to say that I really really love the guitar work at the end ... it reminds me of the opening portion of Miss Universe 2007 when Miss USA came out in her Elvis Presley national costume and she really worked that guitar. The out of this world sounds produced by Timbaland give this song some extra spice. By the way: at first I thought Say It Right was sung by Madonna, and I thought the words were The universe instead of No, you dont mean ... But you got what ... My obsession about the Miss Universe Pageant is the cause of that. Some other things worth mentioning: I did a lot of physical exercising to this song ... The day I was about to achieve my make-up certificate ... I had my final exams and my cousin was my model ... and I was stressed ... because time was running out ... and I still had to work her whole face ... so I was like: Gggrrrr, can somebody play Say It Right already?! Im trying to pass my exams! (Of course I only whispered it, for I wasnt allowed to talk.) And my cousin was like: Boy, get ya groove on, because I aint gonna leave this place looking like no clown, and you betta dont make me laugh, because me falling off ya chair will make things only worse ... so, dont ya stand there SAYing IT RIGHT or wrong ... but brush me right! ... Another time a friend of mine and I werent on speaking terms ... so, he posted the link to Say It Right on his timeline, because he knew Id forgive him right away ... and ... yes, it did pay off ... of course. ... Another time ... we were in some kind of not so good situation and all of a sudden Say It Right was played on the radio ... and we were like: See, God is with us ... everything will work out fine! And o yeah ... all those times in the dance club when Say It Right was played and I ran out to the sound system ... my ear leaning against the big boxes ... closed eyes. Speaking of closed eyes ... I think its time for me to close my eyes ... need some sleep after this whole essay I wrote about this simple, but beautifullllllll song. Number 3 on my list of favorite radio songs of all time: Say It Right by Nelly Furtado and Timbaland. Tomorrow Ill be back with a very unexpected song in the number 2 position, which you all will hate me for, but on Saturday youll forgive me ... as Ill reveal a very deserving winning song ... the song which influenced my life the most.
