3 great openings at Little Kids Rock, a fantastic non-profit Im on the board of revolutionizing music education in todays schools: 1) National Development Director, Little Kids Rock - The National Development Director will be primarily responsible for raising the funds needed to support the existing and growing Little Kids Rock program. He or she will serve as a critical member of the senior management team, inspired by the opportunities to build an effective and sustainable fundraising plan in accordance with the organizations strategic goals, and to acquire and steward donors across all funding streams to achieve maximum impact with their giving. The candidate must have the leadership and managerial skills to empower an enthusiastic and qualified team of staff members and Board members. This is a highly dynamic role in a socially entrepreneurial organization that is transforming kids’ lives. 2) Director of Amp Up NYC - Amp Up NYC is a partnership between Little Kids Rock and Berklee College of Music in support of the New York City Department of Education’s efforts to expand Modern Band music education programming to an additional 60,000 students (K-12) in 600 public schools throughout New York City over three years. The Director will be an outward facing, dynamic leader responsible for managing all Amp Up NYC initiatives, executing strategic plans to meet specific partnership goals and leading the Amp Up NYC team. He or she will bring the sort of passion and mission-driven motivation that inspired the formation of Amp Up NYC, and combine it with the managerial savvy, progressive thinking, operational efficiency, relationship building and development skills essential for the initiative’s continued growth, evolution and success. Amp Up NYC debuted in March 2014, and by the end of the school year, 115 teachers were already using the Modern Band curriculum with more than 15,000 students. Amp Up NYC is the largest private investment in a public school districts music education program in the history of the United States. 3) Bay Area Regional Program Director - The Bay Area Regional Program Director will be an integral part of the Little Kids Rock team and will be responsible for all program activities in the Bay Area. This person will supervise four major areas of teacher professional development: Content, Training, Community, and Logistics. He or she will work closely with the Director of Music Education, Regional Program Coordinators, Directors, teachers and local school districts. Additionally, he or she will work in concert with the West Coast Director to complement development efforts and expansion. This is a highly dynamic, entrepreneurial position in a social entrepreneurial organization.
