3 or 4 years ago I did my Level 2 ASP/IBA judging course, since then I have worked with some great people judging bodyboarding, kneeboarding and surfing competitions. A small A5 booklet is given to you when the course is started. First you learn about the peak and wave priority, then it goes onto score-able turns. The S Turn is the first one, talked about in the judges tent rarely, and not even discussed among surfers. Here is a fine S Turn in a situation where its importance is magnified.
