#3 – Word Play Use all of the followings words in your entry at least once in any order: tomb, summit, cabbage, king. It’s the house at the end of the street. The shutters are old, and they could use some paint. A couple of fallen shingles lay in the yard. You can see the lights on through the window panes. Most don’t think of it as someone’s home. The feeling is more of a tomb. The neighbors often avoid the property, not realizing they could help. Year after year the scene does not change. Frustration sets in with those whose yards are green and lush with flowers. They just cannot comprehend how someone would allow themselves to live in such a dire state. They believe all people should strive to be on the top, the summit, of the list of ”well off people”. Always make sure that you and your life are presentable. Dad and mom raising their children, picket fence, suburban neighborhood, garden in the back filled with vegetables and cabbage. Not in this house. Here lives a man, a father of two, who lost his wife to her battle with cancer, 4 years ago. He plays with his children while they await their dinner to cook. They all remain in this house because their mother loved it so much. They cannot bear to leave it. They feel the house is perfect because it’s just the way she loved it. The outside is of no mind to them. The inside of the house at the end of the street is filled with the love and memories that only a mother and wife can wrap her family in. Sometimes you have to fix the inside before the outside matters.
