30,000 GroceryStore Workers BARGAINING UPDATE October 16, 2013On October 15th, Thurston & Mason County members overwhelmingly rejected the employers current proposals and authorized a strike by 99%. This vote unifies our membership because now the grocery store workers have joined the meat departments in those same counties. We now have more grocery store workers than ever before in the fight together -- in Thurston, Mason, Kitsap, Pierce, King and Snohomish counties.The union member bargaining team will try one last time to reach an agreement. However, time is running critically short to reach a settlement. Make sure every member in your store is signed up for picket duty and that you have made final arrangements in case of a strike.
